Full terms and conditions

In force from 9 October 2026

1.1The QUKO Results Awards programme (the “Programme”) is run by QUKO TECH, S.L., TIN B22866883, Rúa Canabés de Abaixo 5 4ºC, 36940 Pontevedra, Spain (“QUKO”). Contact: contacto@quko.es.

1.2The Programme is a results-based award scheme. Taking part creates no employment, agency or partnership relationship with QUKO, and no obligation to promote QUKO beyond what is stated in these terms.

1.3These terms are in force from 9 October 2026. They may be changed for future races as set out in section 14.

2.1Every member of the crew must be at least 18 years old on the date of the race and on the date they sign the award agreement. A boat with any crew member under 18 is not eligible.

2.2No crew member may be serving an anti-doping suspension on the date of the race or of the claim.

2.3Each crew member is responsible for complying with the rules of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), their national federation and the competition organiser, including rules on the use of recording devices and on commercial rights, and for obtaining any consent those rules require.

2.4QUKO is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the ICF, the International Olympic Committee, any federation or any competition organiser. The names of competitions and the word “Olympic” are used only to describe the events and belong to their respective owners.

3.1A race qualifies if it is a final of a senior World Championships, a senior European Championships or an ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup. The Olympic Games themselves are not a listed competition.

3.2Qualifying events are canoe sprint events in the boat classes K1, C1, K2, C2, K4 and C4, for women and men, and para canoe events (classes KL1 to KL3 and VL1 to VL3), which are treated as K1/C1 boats for the award amount. Mixed events, junior, under-23, masters and other non-senior events, and disciplines other than canoe sprint, are excluded.

3.3An event is an “Olympic event” if the same gender, boat class and distance is on the canoe sprint programme of the Olympic or Paralympic Games Paris 2024 or, from the date the International Olympic Committee or the International Paralympic Committee confirms it, of the next Olympic or Paralympic Games. Every other qualifying event is a “non-Olympic event”.

3.4Awards are available for places 1st to 9th in Final A and for any place in Final B, which has a single award amount. Heats, semi-finals, Final C and lower finals do not qualify.

3.5At least 28 different boats (World Championships and World Cup) or at least 19 different boats (European Championships) must have started in at least one round of the event. Each boat counts once, including K2/C2 and K4/C4 crews.

3.6The race must have been recorded with a QUKO device, and the original, unaltered session file must be provided.

4.1Email contacto@quko.es with the competition, event, race date, a link to the official result, the full names and contact details of every crew member, the crew member who will receive the payment, the details of your QUKO recording, and the original session file attached. The button on this page opens an email with these headings.

4.2Claims must be submitted within 6 months after the race. Late claims are not accepted.

4.3There is one claim per boat. Any crew member may submit it on behalf of the crew, confirming that the others know about and agree to the claim and have read these terms and the Privacy Policy.

5.1QUKO verifies each claim against the official results and the recording and may ask for further information. A claim is complete only once everything requested has been provided.

5.2A “category” is each event (gender, boat class and distance) at each competition. The maximum number of awards per category is 1 for non-Olympic events and 3 for Olympic events. Awards go to the highest-placed boats among the complete qualifying claims; if boats tie, the earlier complete claim comes first.

5.3QUKO starts allocating the awards of a category once 30 days have passed since the race. Claims received later are considered only if places remain within the limit.

5.4QUKO approves every complete claim that meets these terms and falls within the limit. QUKO may refuse a claim that does not meet the requirements or contains inaccurate information, and will give its reasons in writing.

5.5QUKO may, at its discretion and depending on its budget, approve awards beyond the limits in a particular case. Such exceptions create no right for other claimants.

6.1The amount is the one shown in the award guide for the competition, boat class and result. It is in euros and is for the whole boat, not for each athlete. Amounts are rounded to the nearest EUR 0.50, with halves rounded up, and are final.

6.2The amounts are gross and are the most QUKO pays in total: no VAT or other tax is added on top. Any tax due on an award is borne by its recipients and is deducted from the amount. If QUKO is legally required to withhold tax, which may depend on each recipient's country of tax residence and on the applicable tax treaty, it withholds it, pays it to the tax authority and pays the net amount. Each recipient remains responsible for declaring and paying any other tax due in their country of residence.

6.3So that QUKO can apply the right treatment, the payee and, if QUKO asks, each other crew member must provide their tax identification number and country of tax residence and, where relevant, a tax residence certificate. Until QUKO receives this information it may delay the payment, and it may withhold at the rate the law requires when the information is missing.

7.1The award is paid in cash only if, on the day of the race, every crew member held an active, paid Quko Cloud licence. Trial, free and complimentary licences do not count.

7.2The crew designates one athlete as payee in the claim. QUKO pays the full amount to the payee by bank transfer, or by another traceable method that is more convenient for both sides and is agreed in writing, within 30 days after the later of the approval, receipt of the agreements signed by all crew members (section 9) and receipt of the payee's payment details.

7.3Payment to the payee fully discharges QUKO. The crew decides how to share its single award; QUKO has no responsibility for how it is shared.

7.4If QUKO has not received all signed agreements and the payment details within 60 days after approval, the approval lapses.

8.1If any crew member did not hold an active, paid Quko Cloud licence on the day of the race, the approved award is issued as one discount of the same euro value for QUKO products purchased in the QUKO shop, instead of cash.

8.2The discount is valid for 1 year from the day it is issued and the unused amount expires afterwards. It is issued to the payee, is non-transferable (except to other members of the same crew), cannot be redeemed for cash, and no change or refund is given for unused amounts.

9.1Before any award is paid or issued, every crew member must sign a short award agreement containing this section and sections 10 and 11. QUKO sends it after approval, and an electronic signature or written acceptance by email is valid.

9.2Each crew member grants QUKO a licence over the “Race Data”: the non-sensitive data that crew member recorded of the qualifying race, including recordings made with devices other than QUKO's, performance data, visualisations derived from the recordings, their name and the official result. The licence is exclusive (subject to section 9.3), worldwide, perpetual, free of any payment other than the award, and sublicensable to QUKO's affiliates and service providers. It covers commercial use in all media, including QUKO social media posts and showing the race to other users of QUKO products and services.

9.3Crew members keep ownership of their recordings. They may keep, use and publish their own data on their own channels and share it with their federation, coaches, medical and performance staff, team and sponsors. They may not license or sell the Race Data to third parties for commercial exploitation or for use in analytics products that compete with QUKO.

9.4The licence is limited to the qualifying race and does not cover other races or data.

9.5Each crew member confirms that they hold the rights needed to grant this licence, including under the terms of any device or platform used for recordings made with other devices, and that the Race Data does not include data or images of persons outside the crew.

9.6The licence over names and other personal data operates within data protection law. A crew member may exercise their rights at any time (including withdrawing consent or objecting). QUKO will then stop new uses of their name and personal data and remove them, within a reasonable time, from the channels it controls. It cannot recall material already published or shared with third parties. Exercising these rights does not require returning the award and does not affect the licence over Race Data that does not identify the athlete.

10.1The original session file includes heart-rate data by design and may contain other health data. Heart-rate and other health data are excluded from the award agreement and the licence, and QUKO will never use them for verification, the award or any commercial purpose.

10.2If you send a file that contains health data, you confirm that the person it relates to has given their explicit consent for QUKO to receive the file solely in order to remove and delete that data. You may avoid this by sending a file exported without heart-rate data.

10.3On receipt, QUKO removes the heart-rate and other health data and works only with the remaining data. QUKO permanently deletes the original file as received within 30 days of receiving it. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

11.1QUKO TECH, S.L. is the controller of the personal data processed in the Programme. Purposes, legal bases, retention, recipients and your rights are explained in the Privacy Policy (section “Results award programme”).

11.2The person who submits a claim provides the data of the other crew members and must inform them of that Privacy Policy.

12.1QUKO may check claims against official results, ICF or federation data and the recordings.

12.2QUKO may refuse an award, or revoke it after approval, require repayment of any cash already paid and cancel any unused discount if: the claim contained false or misleading information; a recording was altered or fabricated; the result is annulled, or a crew member is disqualified or sanctioned for an anti-doping violation in relation to that race; a crew member does not sign the award agreement; or section 9.5 is breached.

12.3Any repayment must be made within 30 days of QUKO's written request.

13.1QUKO is not liable for emails or files that are lost, delayed or corrupted, for decisions of the ICF, federations or organisers or later changes to official results, or for how the crew shares the award, except where liability cannot be excluded by law. The legal rights of consumers are not affected.

14.1QUKO may change these terms or the amounts, or suspend or end the Programme, for races held after the change is published on this page. Claims for earlier races that are submitted in time remain governed by the terms in force on the date of the race.

15.1Spanish law applies. Consumers may bring proceedings before the courts of their domicile as the law allows; in all other cases the courts of Pontevedra are competent. Before going to court, please contact contacto@quko.es so that we can try to resolve the matter amicably.
